Salesforce Multi tenant Architecture

Salesforce provides its services in a multi tenant cloud. Just imagine an apartment where tenants are staying by paying rent. Tenants will be sharing the resources like electricity, water based on their need. Apartment maintenance will be taken care by Apartment association.

Same concept here in Salesforce also. Tenants will be Salesforce's clients. Clients will be sharing the resources like database, computing power and other Salesforce features. All the maintenance work will be taken care by the Salesforce. Even though clients will be sharing the resources their business data, application details and functionality will be maintained very secured.
